The Richard Marx concert that had been scheduled for Schenectady County Community College for September 29 has been postponed. The flooding that resulted from Hurricane Irene and its aftermath closed SCCC for almost two weeks, just as ticket sales were beginning, and valuable promotion time and planning were lost amidst the crisis. As this was to be a fundraiser for SCCC’s new Music Building, concert planners in consultation with Marx’s team have decided to postpone the concert to ensure the opportunity for maximum support for this worthy cause. Tickets were sold by Tickets by Proctors and purchases will be fully refunded per Proctors policy by visiting proctors.org, calling 518-346-6204 or visiting the Proctors Box Office. SCCC and Richard Marx apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, and we are working together to set a new date for this very special event. Thank you for your patience and support.
Just want to thank all of you…from so many corners of the earth…for the birthday wishes.
I am one grateful guy.
Hope to see you on the road as I have a bunch of shows on deck.
Also, try to catch the new NBC series, “The Playboy Club” starting this Monday, September 19. I’ve been doing a bit of work on the show’s soundtrack, producing vocals by several cast members, mostly working with the insanely talented and super cool, Laura Benanti. So check it out!
Richard and George Canyon have been awarded the “Producer of the Year” prize at the canadian Country Music Awards for their work on George’s latest album, “Better Be Home Soon.” The technical awards were handed out Saturday in Toronto at a luncheon honoring nominees in multiple categories. The awards show itself will be broadcast live Monday night, September 12, and Richard and George will be performing George’s new single, “When Love Is All You’ve Got.”
Richard says, “I’m really thrilled to have won Producer of the Year with my buddy, George. This album, like the one before, was a labor of love for all of us, and I know I speak for George when I say I share this with the musicians who played on it, and Chip Matthews, who engineered it. I feel like an honorary Canadian today. Beauty, eh????”
