Grammy Winning Singer-Songwriter Richard Marx Announces Fall Tour
Richard Marx will tour U.S. for his Whatever We Started tour beginning October 4th
Los Angeles (July 21, 2014) – Fresh off releasing Beautiful Goodbye, his first studio album in 10 years, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Richard Marx will hit the road this fall for a highly anticipated U.S. tour. The multi-city tour will kick off October 4th in Ferndale, WA with additional dates through mid-November. Says the singer, “I’m very excited to tour behind my new album Beautiful Goodbye and play some new songs along with all the hits.”
The Whatever We Started tour will take Richard and his band to various cities throughout the U.S. including Ferndale, Seattle, Springfield, Ponte Vedra, Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater, Orlando, Philadelphia, New York City, Minneapolis, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Alexandria. Tickets will go on sale in select markets July 25th.
On July 8th Richard released Beautiful Goodbye to critically acclaimed reviews across the board with Billboard magazine saying, “One word likely describes Beautiful Goodbye best: sexy.” Miami Herald refers to the music on Beautiful Goodbye as “some of [Richard’s] richest yet.” “Whatever We Started,” was released in May following a surprise performance of Richard’s hit song “Right Here Waiting” on the finale of American Idol with host Ryan Seacrest.
In the last few years Marx has also found time to write for other artists, most recently Keith Urban (with whom he scored Urban’s #1 smash “Long Hot Summer”), Jennifer Nettles, Sara Bareilles and the upcoming release by Vince Gill. Across all formats, he has scored an amazing total of 14 number one singles, both as a performer and a songwriter/producer, making him a true multi-talented threat who continues to challenge himself and his fans. He holds the honor of being one of a handful of artists who have had a number one hit in each of the past four decades. He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
